Hello! I am looking for rec's of Chapter books to read to my 5, almost 6 year old. He is having to go through foot surgery soon and I'm hoping reading to him will help pass the recovery time!

I'm thinking about ordering some "Henry Huggins" books, by Beverly Cleary.  We already read Tom Sawyer and he loved this type of story!

Also, if anyone has a "deal" on these types of books- I'd love to order directly from your shelf :)

Short-ish Chapters and maybe a few scattered pictures in the books help , but I'd love ANY reccomendations!! :)

I have a deal in the red sticky thread at the top of this forum, and I have several books like you describe on my shelf.  I also have more to go through.  Have a look, and PM me if you're looking for anything specific.
