Anyone have Lee Child's Jack Reacher Books 1, 2, 3, and 5 (Killing Floor, Die Trying, Tripwire, Echo Burning) and want to offer a deal?  I'm trying to get these for my mom. I know that at least two of these are available and the other two are not but do not have wishers (depending on the version)  -- so I'm hoping I'm not violating any rules here -- I'm really not trying to jump WL lines.

Thanks!!

Good luck - that series seems to move quite quickly once they're posted. (Sorry, my #1-6 are all gone, went within days of posting them).

I just discovered this series, and have been devouring it.  Any suggestions for another series that would be similar?  These are among the few that pass the "not-tempted-to-skip-to-the-last-chapter" syndrome.

Mylinda, how about the Prey series by John Sandford? I <heart> Jack Reacher, but I also adore Lucas Davenport, of the Prey series.  Definitely should also be read in order.

Thanks for the suggestion!  I am on Prey book #2 now.  I still like Reacher the best, but these are pretty good!

Mylinda, you might give James Swain's Jack Carpenter series a try. Jack is a really great guy and is good at finding lost people. Right now he only has 3 in the series, but all really great books. I would read them in order. Midnight Rambler is the first one.

PS, Love me some Reacher as well.

Thanks Keri!  I just ordered Midnight Rambler.  Now I need a nice quiet week off somewhere to just read my big backlog of books!  A good problem to have!

Keri's right - Swain is good, too.  I've read most of his Tony Valentine series, and I did read Night Stalker.  Good stuff.

Another great - and I mean GREAT series, you could try the Lincoln Child/Douglas Preston series 'starring' Special Agent Pendergast.  Amazing writing.  Start at the beginning, for sure.  There are now 10 in the series, and I can't wait til the next one comes out!  All the Child or Douglas standalones that I've read have been terrific too.  As if we needed more to read, right???

Also, if you want to 'branch out' to the Brits, try the Richard Jury series by Martha Grimes.  All the books are named for British Pubs, and there are roughly 22 of them.  They were delightful.

For all, here's a great website for finding out about your favorite authors, their series, and the order of the books: www.fantasticfiction.co.uk

Enjoy!

Having just discovered Sandford's "Virgil Flowers" books, there are only 4 of those so that series can be devoured quickly - I read #1 last week and have the other three from the library.

They're a spin-off of the "Prey" books, but I've only read 3 of those so far and enjoyed them all.

I'd nominate the Child/Preston books, too. I started one of them (maybe #3?) and realized I was missing a whole LOT of back story - hated to set it aside because it was great but Keri advised reading the books in order, so I'm glomming them.

I have read the first two Noah Boyd books and I love them!! Can't wait for the third to come out. He is the closest to Reacher I have found. I must say I just finished the only Reacher book I wasn't crazy about "Worth Dying For" I hope this will be the only one he ever writes like this. If you want to read a female book in this line I highly recommend Jamie Freveletti, she only has two books out so far and I can't wait for the next one.

If you guys like Jack Reacher, you should give Jonathan Quinn  series by Brett Battles. So far I have really enjoyed the whole series I only have one more to go in the series.

I have the Noah Boyd series in my TBR I might have to move those to the top.

Tammy, let me know what you think of the Noah Boyd series, I can't imagine that you won't love them.

I found the Battles books and thought my DH would like them so he read them and told me I would like them but I had so many on my TBR list I didn't start them, now I will have to get them to read. Thanks for the tip, it reinforces what DH said.

Vince Flynn's characters are great too (Mitch Rapp). Give it a try!
