I like the dark hero, the wary heroine and their romance, but was pretty uninterested in the suspense part of the last 1/4 or so of the bk. Good read but not a keeper.

This is the third in Stuart's "Ice" series. It tells Takashi O'Brien's story. He is trying to reclaim an ancient Japanese bowl from Assistant Museum Curator Summer Hawthorne. His orders are to eliminate Summer in order to prevent mass destruction of life, but he can't seem to make himself do it. Typical Stuart alpha, edge of danger- male and strong survivalist female.

This book was not a interesting in the storey as the first book in the series. The author spends a lot of time on the characters thoughts, which was too detailed and made it hard to read for long periods of time.

3rd in a series...fun and quick read
A soso romance, spy, mystery novel. I've read better but then again, I have encountered much worse!
Just a so so book - not the best, but not the worst.
3rd in series(black ice, cold as ice) and this hero seems the coldest of the 3 but this was one of the more interesting stories to me dealing with history of japan and a religious nutcase(didn't care for that part!) and introduced the couple in fire and ice(book 4). He rescues the woman then tries to kill her several times..unbelievable though you have to understand each 'hero' has to deal with 'the committee' which has to make the best decision overall and sometimes has to sacrifice an innocent citizen for the 'good of all'. The sex in these books seem forced and a powerplay of sorts except for maybe briefly but that's how these guys are and for them to fall in love and go against the committee shows their devotion. I've enjoyed these 3 books though they're not my usual cup of tea in the romance genre..I usually like more loving characters.
Interesting story. Too much time in the Characters thoughts. Predictable at the end but still gripping! There were a couple spots in this book that had me thinking "What the _ _ LL?" A good page turner. Hard to put down.
Someone is trying to kill Museum Curator Summer Hawthorne. She is the owner of a priceless ice-blue ceramic bowl that everyone wants to get their hands on. Shirosama, a leader of a religious cult, needs the bowl for a ceremony that will signal the beginning of terrorists strikes around the world. Committee operative Takashi O'Brien wants to make sure neither the bowl nor Summer fall into the wrong hands, even if he has to kill her to keep her quiet.
This book has a lot of action that keeps the story rolling. But, I thought the romance in this book reminded me too much of the romance in the previous book of this series. Taka is on a mission and has his orders that Summer must not be taken alive by the Shirosama. He is willing to kill her, but something keeps stopping him. I understood his reasoning so it didn't bother me. I didn't understand Summer knowing that this guy is planning on killing her, and sticking around for it when she has a chance to get away. I thought that was just too dumb. So, I liked the story and thought the hero was interesting, but wasn't real happy with the heroine. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
