I would chuck it.  You could offer it as an unpostable free with any order, but to me, that would be like offering a free book that has pages missing.  Who would want it?  So, you probably wouldn't get any takers if you went this route.  Sorry you had to pay money for this.

I just had one that was damaged from the library.  It was 11 cassettes that I could only listen to in the car.  The very end of the book was unintelligable.  I can tell you how frustrating it was to invest all those hours into the story and miss the ending.   What you're describing sounds like it would give me a headache.  I would toss it out.

I say chuck it.  Life is too short to listen to bad audio.   You are welcome to offer it as a freebie though.  There might actually be someone who would like to have it even having such problems.

Oh, I would throw it away.  I listen to alot of audio books.  To me the varying volume is annoying, and it's usually a sign that the tape is going to snap!!
