Thought to try a new thread where someone can quickly type down two books that are equally good and remind you of each other..... (before you forget one of them or both!)

If you like the Mercy Thompson series you will love the kick a$$ Heroine of Stray by Rachel Vincent. (Fantasy...but it has romance as well)

If you like Catherine Anderson's books (with those gentle Alpha Heros--which is hard to perfect)... you will hopefully like Rose in winter by Shannan Abe

could anyone fill in a blank for me?  I really like Jodi Thomas.  Can anyone suggest someone I might like as well?

If you like Jodi Thomas you might like Maggie Osborne, (all of her books are great IMO) or Joan Johnston's Sisters of the Lone Star series or Lorraine Heath's  Rogues in Texas series.

Ditto on Maggie Osborne.  And you might also try some Maureen McKade - A Reason to Live and A Reason to Believe.  Then there's Bequest by Candice Proctor and Under the Desert Moon by Marsha Canham.  All great westerns, IMHO.

If you like Robyn Carr (Grace Valley, Virgin River fame) then you will like Rewriting Monday by Jodi Thomas

one caveat: If you don't like 1st person story telling, ignore the above statement.

If you like Jodie Thomas then you would like Linda Lael Miller,  Cheryl St-John, Mary Burton and Carolyn Davidson.  Out all Jodie Thomas and Linda Lael Miller are my favorites.

If I like Jayne Ann Krentz's older stuff (Wildest Hearts, Silver Linings, etc) with the strong heroes and slightly silly but not totally stupid heroines - whew! who will I like?

Great topic!  Maybe someone can help.

I love LaVyrle Spencer, but as she has retired, how about someone who is comparable to her?

Thanks,  Betsy in MI

Susanna,

If you like Jayne Ann Krentz then you might like Julie Garwood, Stephanie Laurens, Nora Roberts, or Mackenzie Taylor.

Betsy,

If you like LaVryle Spencer then you might like Catherine Anderson, Barbara Bretton, Kathleen Eagle, Alexis Harrington, Lorraine Heath, Sandra Kitt, Debbie Macomber, Curtiss Ann Matlock, Pamela Morsi, or Maggie Osborne.

All About Romance has a page under readers choice that has an option of If you like which has a list of authors and authors similar to them.
