This was an okay read, but there's something about it that's starting to make the novelty of the plot wear off. I really think that the series is starting to go a little downhill. It's like the author's trying to drag it out as long as possible with no hope for closure. I'm glad I didn't have to read these as a kid, because I think I'd worry they'd go on forever. Even with the branch-off series, at least I know the end is there.
Really good, you get more insight into Tobias's poor childhood. It was very sad and moving.
Tobias, the other Animorphs, and Ax already have a few problems: saving the world, keeping their identifies secret, finishing their homework. Now they have one more thing to add to the list. The Yeerks have discovered a way to cause a person to demorph. And with this new devise Visser Three plans on capturing "the Andalite bandits."
