What are the rules for those images that go on the bottom of your posts?  I imagine that they can't be rated "R", but I have seen some that are quite borderline to being "R" rated.  Pictures of a guy/girl in just their underclothes, would that be acceptable?  I have seen a couple of them around and it personally is somewhat offending to me.  Are their regulations and if so what do you do about someone whose pictures aren't quite acceptable?

I don't mind the blinkies it is the pictures of almost nude people.  Isn't there a regulation or something about that?

I haven't even figured out how to put an avatar on my posts.  Someday I will sit down and try to educate myself.  I have all the pictures on signature lines blocked out.  So I never see them.

If they bother you......

Here's how to turn off "blinkies":

  • Log into PBS
  • Go to your Account Settings:
    • Place your cursor over My Account in the toolbar at the top of the site, and click "Settings" in the menu that drops down
    • or Click the Settings tab in the My Account view
  • On the Settings page:
    • Click the link "Forum Settings" at the top of the page (or scroll down to see this area)
    • Select "no" next to "view other members' signature images"
  • Click

To "freeze" the animated avatars in the Discussion Forums, :

  • Press the "escape" key on your keyboard after the page is loaded on your screen.
  • You will need to do this each time you move to another page in the forum.
