We can't deny it we are what we think or will become one we think after a period of time. Having trouble controlling or dealing with your thought life? Do your thoughts control you instead of you controlling your thoughts? This book address how to apply God's Word to your thought life.
The author talks about Storge, a new term for me. It means affection, encouragement, an appreciation for others. Dr. Gillis relates a tale that illustrates how important this is in marriage.
"There's a story about a great trader who lived on a faraway island. The time came in his life when he was ready to get married and settle down. The custom in that part of the world was for men to chose a wife and pay the family a dowry. The size of the dowry depended on how much the girl was worth. A beautiful girl was worth five or six cows. An unattractive girl was worth just one cow" ....the rest of the story is on pages 185 and 186. It's my favorite part of the entire book.
