Great read. Immortal Illusions (Eternity Covenant 2) is a direct sequel to Ursula Bauer's Immortal Protector - don't skip the first one or you will probably be somewhat confused.
The remaining four artifacts [from the first novel] are still missing. The Wardens want to 'hire' Raine and Mad Jack Madden to find them. Raine is manipulated into serving as a 'magical battery' for Mad Jack Madden. Jack is willing to accept the job as a means to achieve his revenge. Raine feels Jack is an unscrupulous scoundrel; very charismatic, driven and disturbing. Jack finds her the disgustingly loyal and noble; but with a wild streak and powerful magic he finds powerfully attractive. They have to find a way to work together...
It's another great read, an action-oriented paranormal romance with complex and credible characters. The book has page turning action, believable relationships, a complex background and lots of sexual tension.
