Microsoft released an informational security advisory this week, about a vulnerability in Windows software. The vulnerability could allow malware to enter your system and take control of it. Updating the Windows Microsoft Malware Protection Engine to version 1.1.9506.0. (or higher) will fix this vulnerability.
Microsoft is recommending that all Windows users do the following:
(1) Check to see if the update has already been done for your system ~~go here for more details~~
For Windows 8:
For Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2
Note: If your Windows is set to auto-update, then you should already be up to date.
(2) Update your system software if that has not already been done
Note: To us, it seems easier to go straight to step 2 and update, if there's an available update.
This is important to do, to keep your system safe. We recommend that all Windows users update immediately, and we also recommend setting your Windows Update to auto-update if you haven't done that, so that security is optimized at all times.
