Many members are not aware (I wasn't) that in order to print up a bulk wrapper, and more importantly, a Delivery Confirmation for the bulk order, after the requestor orders the first book from  the owner's book shelf, they need to order the rest from the button that pops up saying "order more books from this member".

At least 3 times, members ordered books individually through my bookshelf, and I was only able to print up a DC for one of them, thereby not being able to have the credit assurance for the rest.

I wish PBS could find a better way for members to be aware of this, other than trial and error. Perhaps they're working on it. At first, for me, it seemed perfectly sensible to click the books one by one of those I wanted from the same member, not realizing they would not be able to get PBS/DC for more than the first.

Thought this would help all those who send/receive bulk orders.

I have one to process right now.  I posted a WL book and that person ordered 2 other books.  The WL book is on one label and the other 2 are on a bulk label.  I don't need the credit quickly so I'll just print one of the labels.  But it would be nice to have it on one.

Rose, have you actually tried to do this?  My understanding is that you accept all books, and then go to one of them for printing out the postage.  There you have the ability to change the weight to include the entire shipment, add DC, and it will calculate the whole shebang.  This is how it works when someone orders one book in a deal, and then gets bonus books in the same package.

If this isn't what you mean, excuse me.  Mary, if you are buying postage and DC for all, you could do the above also.  I've sent to members using custom DC, and that is another, easy option.  But not perhaps, in these cases.

(I posted this in your other post, too.)

Bonnie, she's not having a problem with the printing of the wrapper, you are right in what you wrote, but that is not the problem. The problem, is that *IF* the requestor had used the "Order more from this member" button, she could have gotten Instant credit on all 3 of them, but because they are ordered separately, she can only get 1 instant credit and then the others when the member marks them recieved. Unless of course she wants to mail them all 3 separately.

I thought I remembered Robert saying at one point that they were working on a way for us to combine requests that are going to the same member, but have been ordered separately. I could be mistaken, but I think it is something on their "todo" list. It should be if it's not! hahaha

You're right, Sherry. That's exactly it. Thanks, everyone!

Ohhh...gotcha.  Thanks for the explanation.  I do love that custom DC!  I hadn't touched that for the longest time, never bothered to investigate what it actually was.  Then one day, I said, let me try this!

Does the "Order More" button always combine the books into a bulk order?

Someone that I know ordered three of my books; one wishlist book and then they requested two more using the order more button. The two that she requested from my shelf were in a bulk request, but the WL book was not. She used the order more button that was under the wishlist book. Should all three books have been included in the bulk order?

Edited because I seem to be spelling challenged this morning.

It has been my experience that if the member doesn't use the "Order More from this member" button on the order confirmation page that the book requests will NOT be combined.

So, if you order a book and go through the order process, then later go to your account page and use the "Order More from this member" button while the request is still pending, the books that you choose during that session are the only ones that will be combined - and it won't be linked to the original book order.

The only way I have found to get ALL of the books in a bulk order is to cancel the original request, then go back in and re-request it, then from the order confirmation page use the "Order More from this member" button.  (of course this won't work if the original book was a WL book since if you cancel that you lose your book and place in line)

To me this seems like a glitch, but that's the way it works right now...
