Who killed Nicolae Carpathia, one-world global ruler and Antichrist? The Indwelling: The Beast Takes Possession eventually solves this mystery, but keeps you guessing along the way.
Suspicion in Nicolae's murder revolves around the leader of the Tribulation Force, Rayford Steele, who flees Jerusalem in fear for his life. While millions of mourners flood New Babylon to attend the memorial for its beloved, charismatic leader, members of the Force scatter around the globe, with only three remaining in the safe -- or perhaps not-so-safe -- house. Rayford is marked as the prey in a worldwide manhunt, becoming a danger to the Force members who try to help him. As the battle rages between Heaven and Earth, the Beast takes control, unleashing the second half of the Tribulation with calamitous results.
What has life become after the Rapture of the Church, the cataclysm prophesied in the Book of Revelation? In the seventh volume in their phenomenally successful Left Behind series, New York Times bestselling authors Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim F. LaHaye depict a battered Earth amid swirling chaos. The Indwelling resumes the story of those left behind in a a dynamic, apocalyptic novel that maybe -- just maybe -- could take place in a not-too-distant future.
Whether or not you believe in the Bible, Left Behind does make for an interesting tale of comfort through crisis (especially post 9/11), conspiracy, a father's relationship to his daughter, and how a newsman deals with removing his feelings to get to a story. The best way to read this series is as a fictional novel in which extraordinary events have happened, people will start to believe in religion. Details are taken out of the Book of Revelation and fiction is added to make it an enjoyable read. I enjoyed the book and the and the rest of the series intense action and feeling which makes them page turners.

one of the best books i've ever read i had never read a series of books the whole series gets you hooked and thinkin what happens next it will make you laugh cry mad and more faithful and look to the lord for answers in your life
This is a great series that everybody should read. I read them when they first came out and am reading them a second time. It will make you think about how you are living your life and what the end of time is going to be like.
Jenkins and LaHaye weave a compelling story of a very believeable potential "going-down" of end times events as prophesied in sacred scriptures of Judeo-Christian faiths. Unforgettable characters are teamed with a thrilling and convoluted plot, timed against the chaotic backdrop of the Christian resisitance against the AntiChrist during the Great Tribulation in this well-written continuation of the Left Behind Series. Highly recommended as a work of fiction-this series is hard to put down. Prepare for a case of done-in-a-day reading--and be prepared to want to read them again.
I didn't care for this one. The entire book took place during the funeral of the antichrist (Nicolae Carpathia). It seemed like it really dragged. I am a big fan of the series, I hope the author was just using this book to set up the story for the last couple of books. The only real exciting thing in the book was the discovery of the assassin but then again, you kind of guessed it during the previous book. The membership of the Tribulation Force is constantly changing, more are dying but more are also being saved. I can't wait to see how the authors present the final chapter of this storyline.
The members of the Tribulation Force face their most dangerous challenges. Some are murder suspects; others test the precarious line between subversion and being revealed. At the mid-point in the seven year Tribulation, a renowned man is dead and the world mourns. In heaven, the battle for the ages continues to rage until it spills to earth and hell breaks loose.
Time and eternity seem suspended, and the destiny of mankind hangs int he balance.

Meanwhile David, Annie, Mac, and Abdullah live life on the edge, toiling inside the very lair of the evil one, always a breath away from lives as fugitives.
Is the safe house really safe anymore? Is a Trib Force member guilty of murder? Who is the next comrade to die? Has their help come from too unlikely a source?
Whether you're a fan of the Left Behind serieis of a newcomer, The Indwelling will keep you riveted from its surprising revelations to its newly provoked questions.
