Is it okay to cut a coupon from a cardboard insert in the book.  The kind for free books... and still meet posting guidelines.

This isn't specifically covered in the guidelines, but the rules do say "No loose or missing text pages."  My understanding is that the word "text" was included in that, because it's okay if an ad or insert that has nothing to do with the story is missing.

It would be important to remove it neatly, and in a way that doesn't compromise the binding.

Thanks. I wasn't going to tear the whole page out ( don't want to damage spine) but just cut the coupon portion.

Yes... be careful... I've received books that were cleaved straight through the glue to the paper on the spine and just hanging because someone ripped out the cardboard ad in the middle- I hate those silly things!  (I don't think there's a way to tear them out without destroying the spine, because they're glued in... there will always be a huge gap in the glue holding the spine together.)

Just clipping a coupon should be ok, although I think it might look better to clip out the whole page rather than leaving half a page in the book if it's just a coupon page... (but that's just my own opinion.)
