I have 5 of the Inspector Maigret mysteries. None are listed ANYwhere on PBS that I can find. They re older MMPBs, still tight, but yellowed pages. I would like to send to a fan of the series. They are only 3/8 inches thin. Let me know & I'll PM the titles.   I may not have posted this in the correct location, but since they are mysteries that PBS apparently doesn't have even one listing for this classic mystery writer, I thought it might be OK. If I'm incorrect, someone will probably let me know.        M'ann             Hooray! Hooray! I found over 100 listed by putting in the 2 wordsn "inspector Maigret" in the place that says to enter a phrase. Wow! This LOL who doesn't work  a computer well, did it!       I don't, however, know how to delete this whole thing!

Well...I'm glad you did. I ordered 2 of them that I don't have, the two Maigrets. The other 3 are stand alones I think, and I usually don't enjoy those as much as the Maigret's. These are tiny though!

I have one Maigret on my shelf. I can usually find him by searching for Simenon.

The 3 you have left are not Maigrets. Simenon wrote many, many books that were not Maigret.

Thank you for all the input. Iread some reviews and found that, yes, some were not Inspector Maigret. I was astonded by the amount of books he wrote. The Maigret ones are his best know and well read ones, but he certainly has many others. What a lesson I learned!    M'ann

I've seen numbers in the 600's for his total output. It's hard to say for sure. He wrote quickly and every day. and many of the Maigrets are fairly short. many less than 200pp. We in the USA have not seen many of his books because they were not translated into English. I think NYRB is publishing many of his books in English.

I had never paid much attention to Simenon until a friend recommended one. After I read the first one I was hooked. I have lost track of how many I have read. Another Frenchman I like is Sebastien Japrisot.

In 2016 (or maybe late 2015), Penguin began publishing (and republishing?) a bunch of Maigret's - many new to me, although I have a slew of them, from ancient to now the newer ones from Penguin. They are available on Amazon, and all look pretty much the same - as if they are a set. I think many of them weren't published here, but have now been translated. I was happy to have additional choices, as I've been a long time devotee. :-)

When I first read a Maigret I had a friend who said he had read a bunch of them and he thought there were around 28 or 29 of them. I just read something in wikipedia about Simenon and it said there were over 70 of the Maigrets. So no danger of running out of them.
