I thought this was a pure sci-fi/fantasy read before I got it, but while it is based in a fantasy world it is very abstract. The focus is not on the fantasy aspects but on the reality of the world, or if it even is real. Kind of a heavy read.

I really liked some of the concepts of this book-- the first section was rather enjoyable--however, it has a repetative quality that tends to bother me. Where the author refers to different characters as the same type of soul or something--it has a reincarnation bent to it that I've never really liked in some of the sci-fi/fantasy out there.

I've read this book a dozen times since I was 10. Well, I can say that about quite a few books... This one is great. It makes you think, and try to find connections and reasons for specific characters and events.

This is one of the best books that I've read. Not for children with the language and situations presented, but great for a mature reader.

Wow, this was not what I thought it was going to be. There's no real story line and it jumps all over the place. If you want a book that you can put down and it not matter if you remember what happened earlier in the story, This is perfect. Also beware if you don't like alot of crude swearing and sexual instances.
