I see two books I wanted to wish for but they aren't listed at Amazon.com but I can find the isbn from amazon.com.uk. They don't work here at pbs. How do I get an isbn number that pbs will recognize in this case? Thanks! |

You can try pasting them into the search box above. Make sure you just have the numbers, no spaces, dashes, etc. If that doesn't work, and you can't find a U.S. ISBN number, then you are pretty much out of luck. If you give me a link to the UK books, I'll see if I have any better luck. |

Enter the ISBN # and if it doesn't come up, make note of it and try again in a day or two. And you might have to try again a day or two after that. I am a big reader of British books and go thru the described routine regularly. Sometimes they seem to be incorporated into the system within 24 hrs but other times it takes longer. But they will show up eventually. |

Michele, an additional thought: Look up the author at Fantastic Fiction http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/ , click on the book and below the book description is a list of the published editions. Often books published in the UK are released later in the US, under a different ISBN, and those ISBNs, even if the book hasn't been published in the US yet, are often in the system. One more version to wish for! |

I sometimes search in my browser by using title and author name together, without an isbn, to find alternate publishers and isbn's for a particular book. You can use this technique to find isbn's for other editions. If an isbn doesn't come up in PBS you can try pasting it into your browser search bar to find other sites' listings for it.
