I received a water damage book, book came in a plasic bag and the mailing envelope has no damage to it,  I market it RWAP and email the sender letting here know, haven't  heard anything yet.

Book has a stain on a few pages through book and the bottom pages water marks and the dust jacket shows water damage, blue ink all around it.

I'm going to take pictures in case she asks, Just got the book, Let's see if she writes back to me.

I am so sorry. Hopefully you will hear from the sender soon and get your credit back. I think that you are very wise to photograph the book. While your camera is out, I would also take a picture of the dry wrapper as further proof. So frustrating!

The same happened to me yesterday but I got my credit back right away from sender.  I sent her pictures of the damage (though I haven't heard back from her), I am sure she just didn't notice when it was sent and as luck would have it I was offered another copy of the book today (from another PBS member!  This is the only time I have had any issues with a book.  They should credit you back, good luck!

BTW, I think we are suppose to give the sender one week (I think)

Unfortunately, some people are like that.  They have the idea that no one can "make" them do it - so they won't do it.  It's too bad.  I try to watch that nothing I want ever comes from that person again.  And while it's a low probability - I have traded through FIFO with a couple of members more than once.  I thought the chances were really low, but it happened.  I wish there was a place I could put a note or a notation for people I like trading with and people I never want to trade with.  But there isn't.

Aaaaaaaagh, that drives me nuts when people say, "I got it from here like that." So what? If that is the case, THEY should have marked it RWAP instead of just perpetuating the problem. Ignoring damaged books like that is why so many people think it's just fine to post those water damaged, stained, falling-apart books. If no one calls them on it, they just keep on doing it and PBS has no idea they're posting books like that.

Although most people dislike conflict, marking RWAP is necessary to weed out those bad traders. So well done, for sticking to your guns. :)

I am glad it was resolved!!  Some people don't understand what should and shouldn't be traded.  When I've had a  question I look through the rules again and sometimes post to my buddies to see what they would say.  Some times bouncing it off of someone else is a great "Am I being nuts?" gauge :))

I learned my lesson about being "nice" about RWAP's.  I call them on it every time now.  Letting someone get by with it just perpetuates the problem and also allows it to increase.  Members have to hold the line on book quality if it is to mean anything.

I have received a few books not postable and at first i didn't dare say anything, now i'm just tired of it, if i don't send books out damage i don't want to receive any damage books.
