Has anyone read this book?  Is it good?

I haven't, and am curious. I'll read it anyway even with bad reviews, but still will read it.

I am just wondering if I should just buy it!  I am #231 for HC & #13 for PB.  I also don't have alot of patience and waiting is easier if I thought the book wasn't that good.:)

If you are familiar with the series, I think it's a nice, tidy solution to Wrath and Beth's problems.  I liked it, but this series is a must-read, if not an auto-buy, for me.  I continue to look forward to more books in the series!

I'm reading because I've been on this train for so long, it's hard to quit. here's my review if you're interested, though. It's spoileriffic. I gave it a 3/5.

(highlight to read)

Ok, I was going to wait to review until I finished listening to the audio version (I already read it in paper) but I can't subject myself to this again.

3 stars only because it did keep my attention a bit the first time, and there's some lingering love for books-past, but really it should probably be 2.

This book is so inconsistent, my four year old nephew could find the plot holes.

1. Wrath is awful. I expect aforementioned 4-year-old to know better than to throw that kind of tantrum. An adult "leader" of an entire race? Yeah...

2. There are FAR too many relationships left hanging. I think at the end of this we have Trez/Selena, Xcor/Layla, and Assail/Sola but I may have missed one.

3. How is it they have a wedding in the mansion and not one mention of all the other mates? It's like they don't even exist.

4. All of the cultural references are going to be out of date by next year. One of the worst things an author can do is put in so many references that there is no hope of their book having longevity. Half this book will make no sense in the future.

4a. Speaking of which, HOW is it ok for an author to openly mock someone in the way that Ward did Miley? I'm not a Miley fan by any stretch, but lay off. There is absolutely zero need for that kind of behavior.

5. Can we please please resolve the John Matthew/Darius thing already. It's getting old.

6. Where are the non-glymera in all of this? This book especially made it feel like there are the brothers/royal family & the glymera and no one else in the vampire world at all!

7. I am so tired of the virginity = crime trope. Seriously, get over it. And while we're on that, the Chosen are all the same. The only way I can tell them apart is by who they are attached to. Oh, except for Payne, who can be used to enhance the misogyny. Yay.

8. iAm as a virgin because of his brother... haven't we seen this before. And I don't buy it for a moment. Not even a tiny bit.

9. The names are getting worse. S'Ex? *yak*

10. The political plot in this book was so full of holes and senselessness I don't even know how to describe it. The solutions to problems would not actually work (such as back-dating the dissolution of the mating. No way that changes things.), and the reality is that Wrath didn't want to be King in the first place! The only reason he did was because the Scribe Virgin said he had to. Well, now the SV is no where to be found and he has a ready-made reason not to be king. Yay for him.

Overall this was a book of artificial angst, half-stories and lame speech. The only things I found moderately interesting were the relationship between Assail and Sola and the brother/sister thing with JM and Beth.

If you want to get the book cheap, you can try half.com or amazon sellers, otherwise you'll have to pay full price. I've heard really bad things about the book and have really disliked the way the series has gone-but that's just me.

I would read the previous books in the series first.  I liked it but it seemed like she was tying up a lot of ends in the series in this book.  I don't know where she could go from there.  It isn't as good as the first books in the series though.  I got my copy at the library too.

I probably will not buy it as the reviews haven't been any good!  Also having read Sarah's review my interest is not as great as her earlier books!  Will wait to get it on my WL.

I wish I had read this thread before I bought the book.  I don't know if I will read anything else by her.  I felt like I was reading unbeta'd fanfiction.  The plot holes and inconsistancies are ridiculous.

I ordered it from B&N, and it only cost $4.75, but I'm not sure why. I expected the usual $7 or $8 and it's a paperback with over 600 pages. I'm about 3/4 or so through it and I think it's good. I don't know how the ending will go, but I see it right now as at least a 4 star.
