Really interesting account of a Chinese-Canadian family in Vancouver Chinatown during the Depression and leading up to WWII. Told from the points of view of three of the children. Definitely provides new insight into the Chinese immigrant experience. Choy provides wonderful visuals and really allows you to get lost in the story.
