James Dodson (born 1954) is an American writer.
Dodson wrote a regular column in Golf Magazine for almost 20 years. He writes on golf, among other subjects. His 1996 book Final Rounds won an award as the Golf Book of the Year from the International Network of Golf, and is being made into a feature film. Dodson currently lives in Southern Pines, North Carolina, serves as editor of PineStraw magazine, and is the Writer-in-Residence at The Pilot Newspaper in Southern Pines. He had taught advanced writing at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.
