You might want to try Andrew Gross. He co-wrote a few with Patterson and is now writing on his own as well. I've read his and they are very good.

Katie, Greg Iles is really good; so is Harlen Coben (I don't care for his Myron Bolitar series; just his stand-alones);  and James Grippando.  I second all of the above suggestions!

I like all of the above authors--haven't tried lee Child or James Grippando though.  I'll be adding them to my list.

A couple others I really like are Michael Connelly and John Lescroart.

Marshall Karp has a similar writing style and is going to team up with Patterson for a future book.  Karp's are quick reads.  The short chapter style of Patterson.  Karp has a little more humor mixed in with the mystery also.  I love Michael Connelly and Robert Crais also.

Try Linwood Barclay.  He's one of my new favorites in this genre.
