From the DorothyL mystery discussion group.  Perseverance Press, which is making a business of picking up series dropped by other publishers, will be publishing Janet Dawson's next entry in the Jeri Howard series.

Subject: rescued series

I've followed with interest and sadness all the recent news of series' dying, being rescued, put on hiatus, etc. Since keeping well-loved series in
print w/ new entries is what Perseverance/Daniel does, I thought it was time to mention some upcoming authors of ours:

This fall (September) we're publishing the long-awaited 6th in Wendy Hornsby's series about filmmaker Maggie MacGowen, IN THE GUISE OF MERCY. [And next fall (September 2010) will see the publication of THE PARAMOUR'S DAUGHTER, her next one.]

Also this fall is the 2nd in Sheila Simonson's new series about Latouche County in the Columbia Gorge (WA): AN OLD CHAOS (a followup to last fall's BUFFALO BILL'S DEFUNCT).

Next spring (April 2010) we'll publish the 11th ( ! ) in Laura Crum's horse vet series: GOING,  GONE. Also, MIDNIGHT FIRES by Nancy Means Wright, a new historical series starring Mary Wollstonecraft. (Wright is the Agatha-winning author of the Ruth Wilmarth series.)

Fall 2010 is the Hornsby book mentioned above. Also a new entry, the 4th, in the Art Lovers series by Hailey Lind, ARSENIC AND OLD PAINT.

In the spring of 2011 we'll be publishing the 5th in Lea Wait's antiques series, SHADOWS OF A DOWN EAST SUMMER (as she posted recently). Also for spring, we're now in the process of signing a contract by a popular author who's on DL, but I shouldn't mention the name or title till the contract's final. Stay tuned!

Last but definitely not least, Janet Dawson's PI, Jeri Howard, will return in BIT PLAYER in fall 2011.  We couldn't be prouder or more thrilled with
this lineup. As a reader, I feel the pain when beloved characters vanish into limbo, so we're doing our small bit to resurrect a few of them. I wish
we could publish twice as many, but reality must intervene at some point ;-)
