Janet Taylor Lisle (born 1947 Englewood, New Jersey) is an American children's author.

She grew up in Farmington, Connecticut.She graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in 1969, and studied journalism at Georgia State University. She was a VISTA volunteer.

She lives in Rhode Island.
