If your interested in visiting Japan or learning more about their festivals and what they do at them and why they are held this book is full of great information. Learn about the bear festival where a bear is let loose in the festival and offered fish in a Ainu ritual for a easy winter. The bear being a mountain god and pleasing it would help it back to heaven. A interesting read if you like Japan, its culture and history.
