Based on the Prohibition and many of the characters are real. Bootlegging in Cincinnati was within 80 miles of most of the distillaries. And if you had a pharmacy license, you were on your way. George Remus, Charles Taft, Mayor Fiorello, J Edgar Hoover, President Taft, and other notables from the day make this one a good read.

Based on a true story, The Jazz Bird is a well written novel of love, betrayal, money and power.
