I ordered this book because David Sedaris wrote about how funny Willlett writes. Sorry to report it was disappointing. In fact, by the time I finished reading this book, I was pretty depressed! I had to read a Celia Rivenbark book to cheer me up. Willett's writing style was enjoyable, but her short story subject matters were real downers. Thirteen stories of gloom!

The only funny part of the book was the Forward by Sedaris. He writes, "What could replace the pleasure of a short story, and to what purpose? It's like replacing oral sex or chicken. I mean, why even try?"
