Grabbed this by chance, mostly because of the name and the cover actually. I had never heard of Rollo before, but was happy that I took the chance. Looking forward to other books by this horror writer. This was a very gory and Rollo held nothing back, excellent book.

I couldn't put this book down. Although I think it should have been a hundred pages longer, Rollo did an excellent job crafting this creepy tale reminiscent at times of the classic film 'Johnny Got His Gun.' It was the first book I'd read by Gord Rollo and I immediately added the rest to my wish list, so that's the mark of a solid novel.

Down on his luck Michael Fox is a guilt ridden, shell of man living on the streets of Buffalo. Tired of his pathetic and drunken existence, he decides to end it all by throwing himself in front of a train that runs very close to the homeless encampment where he and some of his buddies live. As fate would have it, on the day of the deed, a limo appears and the man inside coxes Mike off the tracks and inside the car, where he is immediately made an offer he finds almost impossible to turn down: $2,000,000.00 for his right arm. Wanting to give his one surviving child a chance for a brighter future and imagining the life that kind of money can buy, he reluctantly accepts the offer and soon finds himself, along with three other homeless men, inside a massive medical compound where a brilliant but sadistic neurosurgeon carries on the most bizarre and heinous medical procedures in the field of nerve and tissue regeneration. One of the best horror novels I have read in ages.

Interesting and quite different than any book I have read. It kept me reading, not quite
straight through but almost. I will try to find more of the authors books to read.

First book Ive read by him and it was really good. Im a Richard Laymon, ed lee, bryan smith, etc fan and this was a little different. If I had to complain about anything, its that it wasnt nearly as bloody as I thought it would be(considering the title and cover).

A modern take on the classic Frankenstein story for the ages. This is my first novel by Rollo and simply put, it won't be my last. I've read some amazing books in 2014. Jigsaw Man is now not only my favorite for this year, but many other years as well. The writing is crisp and the story is one twisting turn after another. Some you can see coming. Most of them you can't. And boy does Rollo grab you by the throat with an iron-like vise of a grip. He had me believing the unbelievable every step of the way. At no point was I like "Oh that's BS. I can't buy that!". No, Michael Fox was a sympathetic character you could relate to and you rooted for him, gasped with him, and experienced his dread as if you and him were one and the same. Dr Marshall and his henchman Drake were deliciously evil without being a cardboard cut out of the stereotype. You hated them with every fiber of your being. That's impressive and hard to do. We've all read stories where the villains weren't realistic. You couldn't buy in and be completely invested. That's not the case in Jigsaw Man. I couldn't put it down. I had to see what was around the corner. And every corner I came to had something lurking that was even worse than the previous one. This story was a roller coaster ride that you didn't want to ever end. This may have been my first read by Gord Rollo, but it won't be my last. Before this review, I downloaded everything else of his I could get my hands on. If the rest of his work is only half as good as Jigsaw Man, I will consider it money well spent! Enough gushing on my part. The Jigsaw Man needs to be the next story you read. Period.

A quick read that kept my attention due to the wierd subject of putting people together with other peoples parts. Just a strange book and I read some stuff thats WAAAAy out there.
