All about a young boy growing up in the depression. He had no father but lived with his mom and a couple of bachlor uncles.
Kind of makes you glad to not have been around during the depression.

What a lovely book to read, a young boy growing up in the South and what his family of men mean to him and how they form his life. This book put a smile on my face. An easy book to transition into after a heavy read, like sherbet between courses, cleans the palate for more.

Charming novel about a boy growing up in North Carolina during the Great Depression. Sweet without being nauseating. Written in simple language, carefully chosen.

JIM THE BOY is a sweet, lovely story of a boy from the age of 10 to 11. His father died one week before he was born and he lives with his mother and uncles.

This is a coming of age story and would be wonderful for all ages from pre-teen to adult. I really enjoyed it!
