John Everson of Naperville, Illinois, is an American author. He is the Bram Stoker Award-winning author of the novels Covenant, released by Leisure Books in 2008, and Sacrifice, released by Leisure Books in 2009. Both Covenant and Sacrifice were released previously by Delirium Books and have also been translated in Polish and released by Red Horse and Replika Books.
Everson's work has been featured in numerous short story collections including, Kolchak: The Night Stalker Casebook, Terrible Beauty, Fearful Symmetry, Infernally Yours, Damned, The Horror Library: Vol. 3, Small Bites, and many others. He has three short story collections of his own that feature a wide variety of his work: Needles & Sins (Necro Publications, 2007), Vigilantes of Love (Twilight Tales, 2003) and Cage of Bones & Other Deadly Obsessions (Delirium Books, 2000).
In addition to writing, Everson is also the co-founder of the publishing company Dark Arts Books. This company releases one anthology a year that consists of 4 different authors contributing 3 to 4 short stories each in order to offer readers a sampler collection that represents each of their individual styles. Everson assists with editing and provides cover artwork, book layout, and promotion of the company.
