Now that I've joined Box O'Books, I'm confused on what to do. I only approach box of books members correct? I can trade from 2 to  how many books?

You can trade from ONE to HOWEVER many the other member is willing to trade you for :)  I've done 20-30 books boxes several times, and lots of one book boxes.

Some don't do 1 book boxes, because the say it is not cost effective. My thought to that is, you mail 1 book to get 1 credit, what's the diference if you mail 1 book to get 1 book? If they've got a book you want, you aren't spending a credit to get it, you are spending a book you already have and planned to send out to GET a credit, so what's the dif? But, to each their own :)

You do not HAVE to give a reason for declining an offer, but it's nice to at least be polite and tell them "sorry, not at this time" or "couldn't find anything one your shelf" type answers when you decline.

Don't take it personal when someone turns you down. Not everybody has everybody else's variety on their shelf all the time.

Don't accept offers just so that you are not turning them down, unless you don't mind getting books you don't really want. Some people never turn down a request, they will ALWAYS find at least one book on the other members shelf. Me, I now have too many books to go back to that thinking again hahaha

Use the Overview page of the Boxing section to find users with the general genre that you like, or to search for specific author or even specific books.

Hope that helps! Enjoy :)

Yes, for BOB trades you only approach other BOB members.  You do so using the BOB search page to offer a trade (this page is under the "community" tab).  In general, search for particular book titles or authors you are interested in to see if there are any members that have them.  You can also search for a genre, it will give you a list of members with that genre and how many they have.  Click on one of the members, you will see a list of all their books.  Click the "add" button on the books you want to add them to your requested box.  When done, press the "save box" (something like that) and the member will be alerted to your proposed trade.

If they decline, the trade goes away.  If they accept, gather all the books they have requested, if you can't find them all (or possibly the book has been requested by multiple people), communicate back and forth until you both agree to the trade.  Then press "accept".  Once both parties have accepted, print out the mailing label and send.

I certainly do prefer multiple book trades; they are more cost effective. I prefer to save credits for the books (and DVDs, now!) I really really want.   I do them sometimes, but there has to be a book I'm actually quite interested in.  In general, as long as there is at least one book I'm quite interested in, I'll trade additional books in multiple book trades even if I'm not particularly interested in them, as long as I think they will move - I figure it makes the other member happy and my shelf ends up with the same number of books on it  that I don't want.

I think the limit is 50 books to a box, and that's a bean load of books! Zounds!!

I don't mind doing the one book box, but I'll PM the person to make sure they want the one, or if they are still looking.

Welcome to the world of BoB!

Welcome to BOB! And be prepared to be inundated with offers! LOL I know my first day or two was pretty scary! Thank God for Sherry! She helped me figure out what I was doing.

I wasn't aware there was a limit on the amount of books in a BOB.  50 books is a heck of a lot going to one person!

Ive heard there's a forum for the box of books but haven't been able to find it.

Thanks so much for answering all my questions, I'm very excited about the new way of trading! :)

I prefer to trade a large number of books at once because it is more cost-effective but there are some people with less than 20 books in their inventory and it is not likely I will want all of them!  I have found some great books looking through boxer inventories that I would not have found browsing so it is nice to browse boxer inventories when I get a BOB offer from someone.  I am one of those who tries to find something when offered a BOB but I have had to turn down a couple when that wasn't possible.  The boxer option is one of my favorite features at PBS!
