Fascinating book! You don't normally see books about slaves in other countries, and also about artists - very captivating.

Enjoyable historical fiction about the life of Juan de Pareja, a slave of the Spanish painter Diego Velazquez. I think it gives an interesting look into that time period (early 17th century).
