New Month!

I finished Nine Minutes and it was really good, maybe my second favorite read this year.

I started reading Grey and can understand the mixed reviews. I got to maybe 15% and put it aside. It's too long, so far is just rehashing the original books and what insight she gives on Christian isn't really flattering to him. I was never a big fan of books retold in the other character's POV,and maybe I'm just over FSOG. I borrowed this from my library so if I have time, I may get back to it.

Next is either You by Caroline Kepnes or Undertow by Amber Lynn Natusch.

Can't wait to start KA's Ride Steady, LK's Hard to Let Go, PC's Soul Deep(good to see her writing again after her life ordeal.) and a Regency Anthology, Dancing In the Duke's Arms...with Grace Burrowes, Miranda Neville, Shana Galen and Carolyn Jewel as contributors...figure it will be a good anthology.

I didn't realize Pamela Clare had a new I-Team novella out! It is good to see her writing again.

I finished Mary Balogh's Silent Melody, all my friends loved it, but I just thought it was ok. *sigh* I also finished Christine Feehan's Earth Bound and Laura Kaye's Hard to Let Go and I really liked them both. Note to self, never follow up a KA Chaos book with another MC book, because it never works out to be as good. Although going head to head with Joanna Wylde and her Reapers MC ??? uhmmmm that would be a toughie to choose and would be darn fun. Tack versus Pic, oh the fun we would have.

I read Love You Forever by Amelia Bishop. Didnt really care for it. I also read Torture to Her Soul by JM Darhower. It was ok but I think it would have been better had I read it closer to the first one.

I picked up the McCloud series again after years, and am reading Fade to Midnight (McCloud, Bk 7) by Shannon McKenna. I can't believe I waited this long to read Kev's story. Slow going so far, though.

I had a few dnfs, but partly because of time since I had a few loaners come available over the holiday weekend and just didn't have enough time to read them.

Recently, I read Taming the Storm by Samantha Towle; Beautiful Broken Promises by Kimberly Lauren, and The Light House by Jason Luke. All were pretty good. The Light House was really short but probably my favorite of the bunch.

Now reading Changing Course by Aly Martinez.

I love that series Gina!  Once I start one, I can't put the book down.  I've devoured them all.

The first five books were fantastic, but I wasn't crazy about the sixth. Probably why I didn't pick up No. 7 until now, but I'm glad I did. :)

Recently finished Julie James's Suddenly One Summer, not sure what the title had to do with the book, but Ford was such a darn sweetie...loved this fun read. His and Victoria snarkiness was at times laugh out load funny, as they try and cope with an attraction that neither one of them are sure they want, but can't seem to resist. I also finished Meljean Brook's The Iron Duke, I know I am late to the party on this one, but boy was it worth it. Steampunk isn't my usual genre, but it was certainly worth a walk on the wild side to read. I just wish I had the whole series at my fingertips right now.

Finished Sharon Sala's I'll Stand By You and it was such a wonderful book. It was a NA read, but well worth my time. I also finished MB's Mina Wentworth and the Invisible City and I so love Mina and Rhys as a couple. I hope she has more shorts planned with them as the main characters.

I finally read Colleen Hoover's Ugly Love. It was just as great as all her others.

I also read Vanquish by Pam Godwin. Loved it!

Karen was that a surprising book or what? I had no idea how good that one was going to be when I got that.

I read Forging Bonds by Ruby Macintyre. It was a decent start to the series. Looking forward to the next. Now reading Learning to Feel by N.R. Walker. Its pretty good so far. And it was a freebie!

I may have to look into I'll Stand By You.

I read Kristen Ashley's Wild Man, took me almost the whole week, but it was good. I haven't read one of hers for a while.

I'm looking into I'll Stand By You too. Was hoping my library had it for kindle but they don't.

Melissa and Ressler, I hope you pick it up and let us know what you think about that standout book. I finished a couple this week: I read The Lightning God's Wife and The Light Within: A Winter's Tale, both by Grace Draven. She is such imagination with her fantasy and can't wait for the 2nd full book with Silhara and Martise. I read Abby: Mail Order Bride by Verna Clay a NTM author, recommended by our old friend Sherri. It was a good read, but had a heart wrenching emotional situation and there may have been tears. I am going to pick up the rest of the series. I just finished The Lady Hellion by Joanna Shupe and it was a good ending to the trilogy, but could have used an epi. I am hoping that she is going to write McLean's story. Also read Victoria Dahl's Flirting with Disaster and frankly I had a hard time warming up to the heroine and the storyline overall. It is ok to be ok with your sexuality and making sure you get your O, but I felt like VD was beating us over the head with it.
