OK, I'll go first!

I am finishing Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Myer right now. After that, I need to catch up on my chick lit challenge list. I can't believe half the year is already gone!

I knew there was something I needed to do today, it was create this thread!

I am about to finish "Club Dead" (Sookie Stackhouse #3). So good. Then I'm reading either "Candy Apple Red" or another Charlaine Harris. I have a bunch of books due at the library on the 10th so I am trying to prioritize so I don't have to renew a ton of them.

I hope I didn't step on any toes when I started this thread earlier today.  I look forward to these forum discussions and noticed this hadn't been updated so I took it upon myself.  I hope that is OK.  :)

Jennifer, it is great you started it. Whoever realizes it's a new month just goes ahead and creates the thread. And hey, since you started it, what are YOU reading? :-)

I just started "Alternate Beauty" and am only a few pages in but I am LOVING IT! A very large woman who feels bad about herself and is shunned by our skinny-tastic culture goes to sleep and wakes up in a world that loves its BBWs! (Big Beautiful Women). I just got to where she woke up (a couple pages in) but can already tell this is going to be GOOD!

I took a mini chick lit break and read Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult and Sail by James Patterson. I'm back to chick lit reading Me vs. Me by Sarah Mlynowski.

Nice to see you back Brandi! :)

I'm just about done with Crossing Over: One Woman's Escape from Amish Life. Not what I expected, but not bad.

Now I'm reading Wedding Season  and Hollywood Car Wash: A Novel.

Oh I didn't mean to sound mad or anything about someone else starting the thread - I just remember thinking a few days before July that we almost needed a new one and I was going to try to remember so people would still post!

I am reading Candy Apple Red by Nancy Bush, and also may start the first Aurora Teagarden book by Charlaine Harris... neither are totally Chick Lit, but the first is mystery + chick lit a bit :)

I finished Nights of Rain and Stars by Maeve Binchy. Very poignant story. I really really enjoyed. I think she did a fabulous job describing the characters and the interactions, the only thing I don't think she did as well on was the love story but everything else pulled me in so much that it didn't really bother me at all.

I'm just about to start Tales from the Crib by Risa Green. It's the sequel to Notes from the Underbelly (aka the book that makes me want to snatch a newborn rather than give birth to my own).

I finished Red Blooded Murder by Laura Caldwell this weekend. It's more of a suspense/thriller type book, but she used to write for Red Dress Ink, so her books definitely have a girlier edge.

Maggie,

The only other book by Megan Crane that I've read is English as a Second Language. It was pretty cute, but I like Frenemies better. I have Names My Sisters Call Me on my WL.

I really enjoyed Handle With Care. My Sister's Keeper still remains my favorite by Jodi Picoult, but I enjoyed HWC more than several of her other books. Definitely worth a read!
