From the What are you reading forum,
I'll be finishing up De Niro's Game soon. I'll be offering it up to all of you as an unpostable (it is WL'ed) - long after I received it I noticed two burn marks in the very back of the book on the spine - no pages are affected but I wouldn't feel comfortable posting it. I'm not quite finished yet but I definitely recommend it, especially if you have an interest in the Lebanese Civil War of the 80s. A really interesting take.

I also have two H/F ARC's that I'm offering for 1 credit each -
"Jane Austen's Charlotte" by Julia Barrett, ISBN 087131908X - 2 wishers
I think I got both of these ARC's before my husband quit smoking in early 2008, so they may hve been exposed then.

That wasn't the first book my crazy cats have ruined! She was quick with that one though; I set it on the desk and made the offer post at 9:16, then, just 13 minutes later, it was a ruined book. Aargh. It's a good thing I love that cat so much or she wouldn't ever see cat nip again. ;-)
Has anyone seen the huge listing of ARC's posted in the ARC thread in the Book Bazaar? I got two non-fiction ARC's from him that I'm looking forward to reading -
The Gentleman's Daughter:Women's Lives in Georgian England by Amanda Vickery
A Needle in the Right Hand of God: The Norman Conquest of 1066 and the Making and Meaning of the Bayeux Tapestry by R. Howard Bloch.
He has about 300 different ARC's offered! If you want to check them out, here's a link: http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=139322&l=25&ls=1425
Just sroll down until you see posts by Andy.

I just saw a good one available!! It's not on my shelf though -
If you enjoy the Icelandic sagas, this is a must read! It reads similar to a saga, but is more fast paced, more like a novel, and definitely is a more emotional story.
Here is the Amazon page, so you can read the reviews -
I probably can't talk Shelley into getting another Undset book, but someone should snag this and try it!!
I have a bunch of old Plaidy books that I wanted to offer to you guys first (bought a cheap lot on ebay for a few hard to find books i wanted and these came with them). They are older hardback editions and some of them are not in the greatest shape but there's no mold or anything and they aren't coming apart. As far as I can tell they haven't been exposed to smoke (and I can usually smell smoke a mile or 20 years away!!) If interested please PM me by Monday evening and have on your wishlist. Some of them do not have ISBNs and so if you are not picky about what edition, I can post it to any edition that you have on your list (hopefully that makes sense!).
St. Thomas's Eve (1970 First American Edition - GP Putnam and Sons). no isbn Ex library with mylar cover (cover is a little grubby - you might want to take it off). some yellowing and foxing discoloration along edges.
Queen in Waiting (1985 First American Edition - GP Putnam and Sons) ISBN: 0399131019. Book in very good condition. A few minor tears on dustcover and some discoloration along one edge. some tanning on pages.
Queen Jezebel (1976 edition - GP Putnam and sons). ISBN: 0399117873. book in very good condition. dust jacket has quite a bit of tanning and a small rip on the top spine.
Victoria Victorious (1985 edition - GP Putnam and sons). ISBN 0399131027. ex library with mylar cover and dustjacket. book has quite a bit of tanning on pages.
The Captive of Kensington Palace (1976 first American Edition GP Putnam and Sons) ISBN: 0399118519. book and dustjacket in very good condition for age. some tanning.
William's Wife (1993 First American Edition GP Putnam and sons) ISBN: 0399138072. book and dustjacket in good condition but they must have used cheap paper because there is quite a bit of yellowing for no older than it is.
The Sixth Wife (1969 First American Edition GP Putnam and sons) no ISBN. book and dustjacket in very good condition for their age. pages do have some tanning
one unpostable (free with any of the above to the first person who asks for it): The Prince and the Quakeress (1968 edition GP Putnam and Sons). This one has obviously had something spilled on it as it has some liquid damage and some black spotting on it (not sure if it is mold or not).
