Don't know if there are any fellow bloggers here, but I started a blog in March specifically to keep track of what I've read, with short reviews. Mine is called Nose in a Book...if you have a book blog, too, please link it here!

I have a blog where I post book reviews and other things, mainly about history. You have some interesting reviews on yours, Janelle.

I have a paper diary that I keep track of all the books I read and such.  Then I have a blog that I write about my daily boringness and include my books in that, but I don't have a blog that's only dedicated to books.

Yes, mine is on my homepage link here.  It's called Mount Pulitzer for the Pulitzer list that I'm reading.  I've slowed down quite a bit since I've been so busy lately but I'm still working on in.  Usually I end up entering three or four books at a time, cuz I get behind.

My entries aren really just small notations for me to remember whether I liked the book or not so it's not very impressive.

No, but I do the same basic thing in my book yahoo group.  I tell them about the books I read and can pretty much track all of the books I've read since it started.

I love blogs about books! But I'm afraid if I started my own, I would spend so much time on it I wouldn't have reading time anymore.

I keep a list of books I've read in my notebook here at PBS, and I have posted reviews on most of them.

I regularly check Tanzanite's blog on historical fiction: http://www.shelfandstuff.blogspot.com/

I have a "regular" blog , a small vacation blog and then one for reading.  My reading blog is mainly a list of books I've read by month and a review of them.  It's more for me than anything.

Well, I hope this isn't hijacking too much...but for those that have blogs, which site do you use and why?  I was thinking of doing a listing of things I've read and reviews, so nothing fancy, but didn't know where to start.  Any recommendations appreciated!!

I use www.blogger.com  It is owned by google now.  I've used it for 2 or 3 years and it's easy to use if you're just wanting something basic.  I have a lot of friends that use www.wordpress.com  I signed up and looked it over and decided to stay with what I know, but it looks like a good host too.  Both are pretty straight forward, but I found blogger to be a little more user friendly.

It gives you a choice of  posting using "WYSIWYG" or if you're more advance and want to get into the languages - HTML.   There's plenty of templates to choose from and they've simplified the editing process too.  It was a little overwhelming when I first started, but I soon found my way around and really have fun with it now.

I haven't worked that much with wordpress, so really can't compare them.

I'd suggest you sign up for both  and see which you like best.

Jan

Thanks for the mention Felicia!!  I definately understand what you're saying about spending so much time on blogs - it is very addictive.

I use blogger for mine.  I'm really not very computer literate and found it very easy to use.

I was sent a link to www.shelfari.com today.  It's a site you can post your bookshelf and reviews and look at other people's bookshelves and reviews.  You can also embed it on your blog.  The person who recommended it said it's addictive.

I have a web page devoted to trading romance books.  Part of the site includes my "reading log" where I give my thoughts and a brief description of the books I've read.  Not really a blog....

Melissa, I use Blogger because it's free and it's a very popular site. Typepad has more bells and whistles, but you do have to pay to use it. Not sure how much.

I don't have a blog for reading.  I use the notebook on PBS.  Each book I finish I write about there.

I have a Pooh journal with books I have read over the past few years.

I read an article in a Book magazine (now defunct) about how some people have read over 100 books in a year.  So, I wanted to try to see how many a read a year.   Now that I see all the blog opportunities - I think I will start one very, very soon!

I've been a huge fan of Shelfari, myself--as Cherry mentioned the link above. It's a perfect way to keep track of what I'm reading and give me new ideas of what to read next. I also keep a blank book where I write what I've read. One of my favorite book blogs is http://literaryfeline.blogspot.com/

Jody CR: Plain Secrets: An Outsider Among the Amish by Joe Mackall

I do, but it's just a copy/paste of my own reviews/book journal. Basically so that if my computer crashes again and I lose everything, I have an online source for my info. I don't really get into reading many other blogs, simply because I don't have time and would rather read books! LOL There's a link in my profile too, but here it is if anyone cares : http://spuddiesblog.blogspot.com/

The reason I use that particular site is because it's the first one I found. I'm sooooooo picky! LOL

Not a blog, but for the past few years I have been keeping track of all the books I read on AllConsuming.net (my personal page) and since 2006 have also been keeping track of which books I read by year at one of its related site, ListsofBest.com (2006 and 2007 lists).  I also have some lists by author on ListsofBests.com that are really helpful when I am trying to remember which books in a series I still need to read.  I don't usually write reviews, but I mostly use it to keep track of everything I have read, which is really helpful.

Janelle, I was fascinated by your blog, we seem to be on the same book wavelength. Once I catch up I shall probably be one book behind you all the time! LOL (Hmmm...hope that's not creepy!)
