as of this evening, everytime I log into PBS, I get a screen that asks me to update my email address.  It says PBS has tried to send me email but it was returned.  I checked the club communications and I've received everything in there.  I checked spam and there is nothing there and my junk filters are set to let messages from PBS through.  My inbox is not full.

Any ideas?

Someone was just posting about this over in the CMT forum, having problems connecting with Firefox.

Have you tried clearing your cookies and your cache and seeing if that helps?

I am using Firefox.  I'll try clearing the cookies and cache, didn't think to do that.  Thanks!

This happened tome when I just logged in, but it didn't all day, just this once.  A new feature was added to the forums today, see the "Ignore this member" button on the lower right hand side of your screen?, so this may have had something to do with that.  I would say if it still persists into tomorrow, we should probably let the PBS team know about it.

I seem to be receiving about every third email from this site.

Any thoughts?

I had this request on all 3 sites and it is probable my inbox was full.  I fixed this problem, lol, but so far no emails from PBS.  I was unable to  even get the site to load earlier today on either FF or IE.  I was already having trouble getting BoB emails for about a week, then I got a dump of them..this I assumed was an ISP issue.

Joan, try this to see if it'll help you get your PBS emails.  Try adding the librarian & noreply email addresses to your email address book.  Most emails don't block addresses if they're in your address book.

This is what we recommend if you suspect you are not receiving all of your PBS emails:

  • Check your Club Communications file to see what emails PBS has sent to you:
    • Click My Account in the toolbar at the top of the site
    • Click the "Club Communications" link in the yellow bar at the top of the My Account page.
    • Here you will see all messages sent from between PBS to your User Email address during the last 45 days.

  • If you find items in your Club Communications file which you never received in your email inbox:
    • you may need to adjust your spam filters
    • you should check to be sure that "librarian@paperbackswap.com" and "noreply@paperbackswap.com" are on your list of "safe" or "accepted" senders for your email account.
    • Look at your list of "blocked" senders; if either of the two email addresses above appear there, remove them from the "blocked"  list.

If this does not work:

  • You should contact your email provider to find out why your PBS emails aren't getting through.
  • You should consider choosing another email address to receive your PBS emails while the matter is getting sorted out.

Well it seemed to resolve itself.  For about 2 hours I didn't get any mail from PBS but then got about 20 or so.  So far today all is well.

Thanks for the input.

I got the update e-mail message last night also. I updated it but it's the same address so really not an update.  I checked club communications and I had one e-mail that I hadn't received. Today I checked my email and noticed I didn't get one of two daily digest, checked club communications and it's there as being sent but I didn't get it. So something is up with e-mails.

It did it once for me yesterday. It's been fine since.

I think your email trouble must be making the rounds.

I was unable to logon to PBS yesterday afternoon for several hours, until finally the screen asking me to update my email address popped up. I  typed in the same one, because I haven't had any problems until now and don't want to change if I don't have to. The club communications list showed that I'd missed maybe 7 or 8 emails -- most of them while I couldn't sign on. I've missed a few today, too. What really concerns me, though, is how I could not get to my account yesterday. I don't think bouncing a few emails, for whatever reason, should be reason enough to shut me out of my account. That seems way too drastic. I suppose the timing could be coincidence, but if so, it's very strange indeed.
