Contrary to what I originally thought this isn't the next book in the Blue Bloods series, instead it is a kind of companion to the series. It is a good addition to the series and has some great stories in it.

This book is an conglomeration of a variety of things. There are some great short stories that fill in missing pieces. We get a story about Schuyler and Jack's first rendezvous at the house where they meet secretly. Another story about Schuyler and Jack's last meeting from Jack's point of view. A short story featuring Bliss that introduces De La Cruz's new Wolf Pact series. And another story that tells up what happened to Dylan Ward for the time he was missing earlier in the series.

In addition to these stories there are short profiles on all of the different members of the families. Appendices discussing all of the side characters and all of the canine familiars. As well as an appendix going through terminology.

Overall the stories were good, the extra information was interesting. It made me realize how complicated this series has gotten since I picked up the first book in the series and thought, huh well that was a pretty simple story. I would say this is a must read for fans of the series. I really enjoy De La Cruz's writing a lot and love this world she has created.

This isn't necessarily a book you need to own, although the appendices are nice to have for reference when reading the series. I would recommend buying it used or getting it from the library unless you are a super huge fan and need to own the whole collection.

This book gave helpful background information and helped fill in the blanks about what happened when some characters disappeared and how characters became who or what they are. For example, the book told about when Dylan disappeared, and it gave background information on Kingsley. It helped also to get you up to speed if, like me, over the course of reading all the books, you've lost track of some of the details of the story. I liked the glossary and history of characters, as well. I liked seeing the history of names that each character had lived under, as well as who their conduit and familiars were. Interesting reading for people who are fans of this series.

This is a great reference book to the Blue Blood series. There are a few little stories included, but it is mostly a book to explain things from the series.
