Desmond Ray purchased a dozen gooey crullers and proceeded to throw them at "Re-Newed", a shop that resells gently used goods.. He is convinced that the owner has stolen a diamond brooch and money from his aunt. He is found shot dead in the alley between the stores the next morning. When Gabby, sometimes friend of Suzanne Hart and owner of "Re-Newed", the shop next to "Donut Hearts", falls under suspicion of the murder, she asks Suzanne to help clear her name and find the real killer. Naturally Suzanne gets herself into trouble before unmasking the murderer. This is an addicting series that has great characters and wonderful interpersonal relationships..I am waiting for the next book......
