throughly enjoyed this book --will read all by this author
WOW!! Great story, easy to listen to and follow on the cd! I listened to it twice recently on a long road trip. Fast moving, interesting characters and terrific suspense building by the readers voice inflections. Top rate book on CD.
Max Freeman a Philly ex-cop now a P.I. in Flordia is requested by ex-girlfriend Detective Richards for help on a girls' gone missing case. Richards suspects another Philly ex-cop of the crime but with Freeman's help it takes a different direction.
Well written, doesn't drag and moves along at a good clip.
Max Freeman is an ex-cop-turned-private-investigator living in the Florida Everglades, doing the odd PI jobs for his friend, a high-powered attorney with a speech defect. Maxs ex-girlfriend and homicide detective, Sherry Richards, gets in touch with him, requesting his help in tracking down a serial killer of women bartenders in Floridaand in particular, she suspects a former police officer who served with Max. The problem is that this former officer once saved Maxs life. Nonetheless, he agrees to help and during his investigations, he believes that Sherry is going after the wrong man, but is too stubborn to listen to him.
The reader is also introduced to the killer, who is indeed a police officer with some serious issues with women. Hes rather handsome and can be charming when he wants to be, so his selection of available women is vast, which certainly doesn't help matters.
This book takes us from the back rivers of Florida, to Philadelphia, to the deep swamps of the Everglades. While not a lot of physical, rough-and-tumble action, we do get a good dose of how this particular serial killer thinks, as well as Maxs personality. A good, quick read.
Didn't get a chance to read it.
