Ralph Compton kept his books clean and readable for anyone, and that is certainly a rarity these days. He kept the action moving, and if you don't mind some historical inaccuracies you will really like his books.

A very good western, but character is much, much larger than life. But, a good read if you are into cowboys and the old west.

Wow! I couldn't wait to get this book after reading the first one! I love how real bits of history are all woven into the story. I learned a bit about the old west and the story was just wonderful. I was really cheering on the main character. I couldn't put the book down. If you love the old west, gun fights, tiny towns, horses and saloons, by all means....READ THIS SERIES!
