Hello Kimberly P,

I received these three books in the mail today: Our Game - LeCarre, Day of the Cheetah - Brown and The General's Daughter - Demille which was a lovely surprise except for the fact that they aren't mine.   While I do have books on order that I have yet to receive, these are not them.   I've checked my transaction archive and I have never traded with a Kimberly P. so my dear I do not know how to contact you otherwise.  I did check the member directory and PM a Kimberly P on the chance that I've managed to luck into finding the correct member, but thought I'd post here too just to be on the safe side.

It's probably Kim Purvis.  She does a lot of deals on here.  Her nickname is kpurvis.

Good luck!

Maybe email the website and say, " Could you please tell me whose address this is? I need to PM them to let them know I have books that were sent to me in error."

Use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page and tell the PBS people that you received these books. They can look at the details on transactions to find out where they came from.

Was the label hand written? If it was a PBS printed label, then the sender would have had to access your data at some point. Did you look in your transaction archive to see if there was a cancelled transaction from CA?

Could it be a RAOK? Did you check your buddy list for a Kimberly?

This I have done and PM'd likely culprit but since not all wish to have their profiles made available it is possible there is one or two of which I am not aware.

Not a PBS printed label at all.  Computer printed to be sure but simply my name and mailing addy.

That's the mystery then, is it not?  No Kimberly on my buddy list and ne'er a Kimberly on my transaction list.

Well, now I could do that of course but then this is more fun, don't you think?

Can you tell I am currently reading a book with more than a few references to Holmes and Watson?  ::snicker snicker::

I love a good mystery too ;)

My next question would be, what makes you think it came from a PBS member?

Indeed, not a certainty.  But a most likely probability.  I do not trade books with sites other than PBS and do not know this sender myself.  I stopped opening the package at once when I glimpsed the contents, knowing that these were not books of mine, but from what I can see of the one opened flap there is no identifying paperwork included.  What is most curious is that these are in fact books of the genre I read.  And more curious yet, books that appear on either my TBR or Reminder list.  Ah...the plot thickens!

While I have often thought of joining in on those activities of calculated strategy I have yet to indulge.

Jan , back  around the first of the year, Kimberly P. (Norafan) was giving away 'free books'.  I  asked for a book in 'Feburary ' and Received it just a few Days ago.  Bless her heart, She didn't forget... But I did :)   It took A good deal of thinking about  Why I got this book , Went back through my PM's and found where  I had  indeed asked for it. So more than likely your Books are from 'Norafan'.   She is From 'Bakersfield  Ca.

Ah, Paula, now there you have it!  Actually, this had indeed occured to me at around 3:00am this morning.  An 'Aha' moment as it were.  What was I doing up at that dreadful hour you wonder? (I was wondering the same thing in all honesty.)  I was deep in a discussion of the merits of Webkinz versus Neopets with my 8 yr old.  The child being a bit quirky and unable to return to sleep until such matters are resolved.

Mystery solved.  Pity, it was a good bit of fun :).
