My 4 month old kindle broke yesterday. After working with a tec from Amazon it was solved by them sending me a new one in 2 days. I have over 147 books on my kindle. I am not sure how to get them all on my new kindle. He said they would all be in my archived items. Or they are on line in the mange my kindle folder. If any one else has had this problem could you please let me know how to get the books back on my new kindle. They are still listed on the broken kindle.
However you got them on in the first place, that'll be the way to get them on the new one.
If you've 'sideloaded' the books, just put them back on the same way.
If you've downloaded your books from Amazon, they'll still be in your Amazon Library as long as they weren't loaners that have timed out. There are two ways to do this when you get your new Kindle. Register your new Kindle and deregister the broken one.
Just log into Amazon, go to "My Account" and "Manage My Kindle" and click on "Register a Kindle". That will bring you to the page that lists your Kindle device. Find the old Kindle and click 'deregister'. Then when your new Kindle comes in you can register it through this page, or from the Kindle itself. (IIRC)
When your new Kindle is registered, you can go to your Kindle Library, (Back to Manage My Kindle) and click on each book and send it to the new device. Or go into the new Kindle, go to Archived items, and download them from there. You should see on the new Kindle all the books Amazon has in your library.
Amazon keeps all the books you get for free or purchase in Your Library until you remove them yourself. That way they'll be ready to load onto any new Kindle device.
