Announced on Facebook and DailyCheapReads.com:

Books for your Kindle for $5 or less.
Breaking: EA Games at Half Price Starting December 20 1 comment

Amazon just announced that EA Games for the Kindle will be half-price starting tomorrow, December 20, at 12:00noon through January 2. I?m assuming that is 12:00noon Seattle time. Thankfully, there should not be a shortage of the supply and we shouldn?t have to sit by our computers waiting to push the buy button as this event is two weeks long.

Tomorrow I will create a post of the games with prices and links when the price reductions are available. To help you plan, Electronic Arts has four games for the Kindle currently available.

EA Solitaire $3.99
EA Sudoku $3.99
EA Texas Hold ?Em $3.99
Scrabble $4.99

I got Scrabble today for 2.49 (been waiting for this one to go down in price) and it works pretty well. The interface has been improved also.

Monopoly is also on sale for 1/2 price.

My kindle is hopefully going to be delivered this coming week and I was wondering if I can buy the scrabble game before I receive the kindle and just store it in my account until I can download it? I use the kindle app on my ipod touch, so I know I can buy books, but I wasn't sure about the games.

Just tired to buy one of the free games and it is waiting for me in the "manage my kindle" section. Wanted to get scrabble while it was still on sale.

Yuck all brainy games lol.  Would be cool if they would do Majhong (or however ya spell it).  What kind of other games can we get on it, didn't even know you could do that. :)

There is a mahjong, not on sale though. It's 3.99. I saw solitaire for 1.99.

Thanks Marilyn for the link.  I got scrabble.  I just got a Kindle for Christmas and a friend gifted me an Amazon giftcard to add some books and games!

Yes, you can purchase items from Amazon before you buy the Kindle, but make sure you have Kindle for PC set up on your computer. Im not sure if you can purchase Kindle items if you don't. Well, I guess you can, but Im not sure what happens to them.

i tried to get the free games before when i just had Kindle for the PC and it wouldn't let me order them because i didn't have a device to play on.  however, it did let me order it as soon as my Kindle was ordered from my account (or maybe after it had shipped, i'm not sure i checked right away) since it knew the device was coming.  :)

It did let me order it and my kindle hasn't shipped yet. It already set up a "lori's Kindle" device. Everything is just waiting for me to download now.
