They have one over at Amazon.com and was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting one here??

Just request a book post your email or request to be contacted thru messaging here and if anyone has it available to loan they can contact you.

I have quite a few for loan listed at Lindle.

Anyone wanting to borrow one of mine is welcome to PM me with their email addy. And I don't mind checking here for requests.

I just don't have anything specific I'm looking for at the moment.

[Ed. removed the link. They only list a few from my list, so it's not at all helpful. Ugh.]

I prefer to read books on my Kindle, rather in paper, because of allergies I have. I'd love to be able to loan, or even give, eBooks to another member, if that's possible, because I normally only read a book once. How would I do this? Are there directions for lending eBooks?  I looked on the PBS site, but didn't find anything about this topic.

Also, I'm building up credits for swapping my paper books, but not using them (to get more paper books). Are you having this experience too?

Sell your credits in the Book Bazaar and get Amazon gift codes as payment. Buy more Kindle books.

MaryLee, also check your local library and see if they have ebook lending. It comes straight to your Kindle. If not, there are some really nice libraries across the country that will sell you an out of area library card for 35-50 bucks and you can read as much as you can download. Not every publisher will offer their books to the library to lend, but there are a ton of bestsellers, romance, etc available. It's truly amazing. All allergy free cool

Are there directions for lending eBooks?  I looked on the PBS site, but didn't find anything about this topic.

PBS doesn't lend the ebooks. That's just something private members are wanting to do. So PBS isn't going to be much help with it and won't get involved.

You have to have an Amazon account. If you know of someone who has lendable books, you give them the email address assocatiated with your Amazon account. They can go to the book you want to borrow and lend it to you by putting in your email addy into a form for loaning.

You'll get an email from Amazon saying that someone is lending you a book, do you want to accept? You follow the directions to borrow the book. You can borrow it once, for 14 days. After that Amazon will remove it from your library.

I have an account at Lendle.me (where you can list the books you have available to lend, and get points for lending to borrow books.) I don't care about getting a credit for one as I have plenty. But if you see anything on my list you want to borrow, PM me with the name of the book and your Amazon addy. I'll lend you the book.

[Link removed] to see my list. I think you can see the list without being a member. It's a big list, so don't have any other good way to keep track right at the moment. It's a very slow web site, so takes a few minutes to load.

[Removed the link, since it only shows about 20 books from my  list. Not really helpful.]

Well, the cart that shows my list doesn't come close to showing them all I'm afraid. So if someone is looking for something, I'm happy to check for them.

I should have a couple thousand ready to lend. Most of them have been free in the past, but aren't anymore.

I usually have mystery, scifi, paranormal, Urban Fantasy, some erotica, romance and just a few steampunk. I do have some m/m there I think, but I mostly get those at other places than Amazon.
