I am slowly getting "used to" my Kindle paperwhite. I am still thinking of it as my "travelbooks" - i don;t know if it will ever be what I pick up to read at home - time will tell.

I do have one question - I see the list (and pics) of books on my kindle home page. if I click on the book, it immediately opens for reading - i'm wondering if there is a way to readthe synopsis of the story, bascially,  what would be the "back cover" on a "real"(LOL) book. I have dowmlaoded quite a few free ebooks, and I have no recollection of what they are about.

Also, if I order books from Amazon, whil emy kindle is not connected to Wi-Fi, will these books magically appear when I do connect? (sort of like a phone message left when your phone is disconnected). I guess I will find out the answer to this today when I go out, and can connect to a public wi-fi, but, just thought I'd ask here as well.

Yes, as soon as your Kindle's Wifi is turned on, it should download any purchases for you.  My Nook does that.  I purchase free ebooks all the time via the website and they download onto the Nook as soon as I turn on my Wifi.

For the Paperwhite, if you do a long touch on the cover of the book it brings up a menu.  "Book Descriptions" will take you to view the book on the Amazon home page, where you can see the description and reviews.  However, you do have to be connected to wi-fi.

Unless the publisher puts a synopsis at the front, I don't think so.

Don't send them ALL to the Kindle. When you buy a freebie, click on "deliver to" and choose to send it to your cloud reader. Only send the ones you are really interested in right to the Kindle.

Agree this is an annoying thing with ebooks. No problem if it's a well-known book, but otherwise it's a hassle to remember what the book is about.
