Does anyone have a skin for their Kindle (or other e-reader)? I was thinking of getting one from Amazon. Are they durable? Do they hold up to a lot of handling?

I have one and it's excellent. Had it for about a year and no problems at all. Went on easily and stays in place. I got it from DecalGal.

I like the DecalGirl skins. They sell from their web site and through Amazon, but they have a better selection from their web site. I've used them on almost all most ereaders through the last few years and my iPhone and iPad. Love them!

I've never had a problem with any of the designs fitting, and find they're pretty easy to apply. They can be adjusted a bit, just be careful not to stretch the plastic when applying. They're tough, and I like the feel of them a lot better than the metallic feel of some of the readers. They're tough and do protect against scratches, and I love the artwork.

I tend to like the matt rather than the high gloss for some things, like the "Painted Brick" on my Touch. But like the high gloss for the cover of my Sony, "Green Lacquer" since I would expect that kind of finish to be shiny in real life.

I've also had "Aqua Tranquility" for my iPad, and iPhone, which comes with the matching picture for the screen on the IPad.

And I've had the "Colorful Kittens". When giving or selling my older models, I leave them on and let the new owner decide if they want to keep them on, and only my sister removed the Colorful Kittens from hers. She's a dog person. smiley

And if you check around you can usually find a 10% off coupon for the DecalGirl site.

I want to get a skin but haven't taken the plunge yet. I just applied a screen protector to my Nook Color, I worked and worked at it and there are still some little bubbles. Still, it is probably for the best, since its for my kids mostly. I also put it in a skin like case by Trident Aegis, and that thing is pretty cool, protects everything but the screen. Now it won't go in my case that covers the screen. So maybe I'll get a pouch or a hard case of some sort.

I got one of the Decal girl ones that Cindy mentioned for my Kindle Fire and I love it so far...mind you, I've only had it for about 2 months now, but it was easy to apply and have no issues with it peeling or anything.

I have this one and it's gorgeous! :)

Oooh! Pretty! Matte or High Gloss?

I have to quit visiting that site. Makes me twitchy to get a new iPhone skin. I've had this one for 1 1/2 years, and I'm so tempted to do something different and shake it up a bit. Yet this one is still doing just fine, so I don't need one.

What's cool is that they're even prettier to me once I get them than on the screen.

Thanks for the replies! I just ordered this one. It was a tough choice. They have lots of great designs. I almost got the "colorful kittens" one. So cute!

I did find a 10% off coupon code (thanks for that tip, Cindy!). I could have gotten a 15% one but would have had to sign up for a website.

Ah, dang it, I had to go look again. And browse again. This is killing me. Lol.

But very pretty! Sometime in a wild color mood, and sometimes just something elegant on black. That one's nice.

Ok you all talked me into it. I just got this one. It will go nicely with my red leather case.

Cindy, I took your advice and got the matte.

i've always thought this one was nice.  colorful, but not so much as to draw attention away from what i'm trying to read, definitely in matte.  not that i've gotten it yet, but it's still on the wishlist.  :)

Well I loved my Apocalypse Red from Decalgirl. Unfortunately since I am exchanging that Kindle, the skin went into the trash. I still have the back, since I didn't leave that on.

I ordered a Nokey skin this time for my 1st Kindle Keyboard, since the letters are wearing off, and I put it in the Amazon lighted cover. (The kindle looks pretty ugly in that cover).  I ordered this one.

Arrgh, just revisiting this thread now...there are WAY too many really nice ones that I'd like...i wish they were made so that you could slip them off and on depending on your mood...I'm assuming they'd be ruined if you peeled them off? The one I have is still lasting very well, no problems with it...I have the matte finish and really like it.

Yes I tried to be careful when removing mine but that didn't help, it was completely ruined. I still have the back, which I had removed after two or three days....it came off fine. But the front was on too long, I guess.

If you damage them while trying to put them on, Decalgirl says they'll replace the skin for the cost of postage. Nice to know, but I haven't heard of anyone who's work with them that way.
