I just finished reading this book (my first by SEP) the other day and absolutely loved it.  I have a couple of questions for you if you are an SEP fan.  First, I've been looking through her other books to see what else I might like, but none of the heroines sound all that appealing to me.  They all sound just the opposite of Daisy's character.  I loved her wholesomeness, and she was just such a sweet person.  Would I like many of her other books?

Also, does anyone know if they have any plans to re-release KAA in tradesize paperback?  I noticed that several of her books have been re-released in tradesize.  I have a worn out copy of the book and would like to look for a better copy, but I may hold off if it will be in tradesize one of these days.

I loooved Kiss an Angel!!!   Daisy was so sweet and so vulnerable.  One of my most favorite h/h couples.  With SEP I either loved her stuff or couldn't finish it.   I just read her latest and wasn't moved at all.   I really loved First Lady , too.  You should try that next.

I, too, recommend FIRST LADY which I held off reading for a long time because I thought it would be a lot of politics'y stuff which it didn't - I loved, loved, loved it.

Another heroine I loved was Gracie from HEAVEN, TEXAS. She's a sweetie who has to take on a nearly impossible job. I've been wanting to reread it for the longest time.

It's so funny because all of the above are the only SEP's that I liked.  The H in First Lady reminded me a little of Daisy.  I also really liked Annabelle, too.

I loved Phoebe in It Had To Be You and Blue in Natural Born Charmer. There really isn't one book of SEP's that I don't like.

I gotta reread my SEPs!

The only one I didn't really love was the one with the golf pro, everything else was wonderful.

I love every SEP I have ever read except Breathing Room. I enjoyed that one but just didn't love it. Honey Moon, Hot Shot, Dream a Little Dream, Match Me If You Can and Aint She Sweet are my favorites - Oh and Lady Be Good - to many great ones to choose from lol. I also loved Blue from Natural Born Charmer and Glitter Baby was spectacular! I also really enjoyed her early historical Risen Glory - re-released as Just Imagine.

My library had a copy of Heaven, Texas, so I got that one today.  My aunt has been reading SEP for awhile, and I just ordered It Had to Be You for her a couple of months ago, but I sent it to her and didn't read it myself.  Now I might have to get it back from her if she still has it.

If you liked Kiss an Angel, then I agree with the suggestions for First Lady and Heaven, Texas.   Also, Match Me If You Can is just plain fun!  I haven't read EVERY book SEP has written but Kiss an Angel is probably my least favorite.  But it is a type of her books.  The football stars ones are my favorites, even though I would rather have surgery than anything to do with football.  The women in the books are really great.

I love Natural Born Charmer--Blue is kinda sassy (not so doe eyed) but with a heart of gold (because she puts up with waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy to much crap from others and has become a really tough little nougat) Also, Nobody's baby but mine is sweet--she is your classic lonely good girl who makes a mistake (this one you need to read the first 50 pages to get into it)......I am a big fan of SEP but I DO NOT LIKE Fancy Pants and Hot Shot....They are two dry of reads for me and the men are a little too cruel or standoffish.

I could talk about SEP ALL day. She is by far my fav author (I love how witty her characters are and how they interact with each other). The only author that I think reminds me of her is Kristan Higgins. Higgin's dialouge makes me crack up as much as SEP. Plus higgins makes me feel all worked up for her characters too......

All Higgins talking aside--I could honestly talk till the cows come home about SEP and her books (I secretly get excited when I see a thread about her!)

Hi Phyllis,

I was at W-M this morning and found the new Kristan Higgins - I've never read her before but when I saw the book I remembered your comments about her so I thought I'd give her a try.

I also went to my indy bookseller to pick up part of my new-book order but didn't have time (or the extra $$$) to pick up any of Higgins' books used. Next time. Any particular titles you'd recommend? Do any of her books tie-in?

(sorry for veering off the SEP subject but I didn't want to start a new thread)

My all time favorite is This Heart of Mine. I think it was even high on the list of one of those romance websites (AAR maybe?) as one of the most highly voted comfort reads.

Hot Shot is definitely my least favorite. I'm not that crazy about Fancy Pants or Lady Be Good either, so I'm a little disappointed she's not working on anymore Stars books.

I'm about half way through Heaven, Texas right now and I'm really enjoying it.  Gracie is a lot like Daisy, and with a name like Bobby Tom, I wasn't sure how much I would like the hero, but I do.  He's definitely hot.  I don't think the story has hooked me as much as KAA had by this point, but it's still good.  I think I'm also a sucker for animals, so that might have helped a little, too.

Thanks everybody for rec'ing your favorite SEP's.

Gail,

I do hope you love Higgins (Although I have not read her newest book yet!) She does not have many books out yet (this is only her fourth, I think.) I loved One of the guys and Too good to be true (They both crack me up.) I personally did not like "Catch of the day." The only warning about Higgins is her characters sometimes take too long to "Get together" if you know what I mean.........................I so hope you like her (praying to the good Lord !!!)
