Fantastic book for so many reasons. Great stories about healing, love, and What Really Matters. Generally short chapters so you can pick it up and put it down easily. Good amount of white space in text makes it easier/more inviting to read.

I love this book of beautiful, heartfelt, wise, and powerful stories. Stories of healing, loving, living.

I've probably given away 5-10 copies to special people at special times.

Book based on the concept of "kitchen table wisdom", the human tradition of shared experiences. Dr. Remen gives an insight as to what real healing is about. Good one!

Telling stories can be healing. We all have within us access to a greater wisdom, and we may not even know that until we speak out loud.

Listening to stories also can be healing.....You realize you're not alone; you're traveling in wonderful company. Ordinary people living ordinary lives often are heroes. -- from the Foreward by Dean Ornish, M.D.

Great book - very similar to "My Grandfather's Blessings" which she has also written. It is a very inspiring and certainly allows you to put your life into perspective.

This book is full of wisdom and insight by Dr. Remen. She is an experienced physician, a pioneer of holistic medicine, counsels cancer patients and their families, and lives with a chronic medical condition herself. Her compassion really comes through in her writing. Each chapter offers jewels of wisdom and comfort.

My therapist recommended this book to me. I would not have ever picked it up on my own but I'm so glad she told me about it.
