I am reading the first book in the series, Kitty and the Midnight Hour. I'm through about half of the book and wanted to know if Kitty will become a stronger person in the next book. I get the whole alpha/sub wolf thing, but sometimes I just want to smack her and hope some sense sticks.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Kitty grows alot in the series.  Actually, she grows alot within the first book.  Be patient.  And be sure to read the Kitty books in order.  Kitty is a book about finding your own strength.

Kitty does grow alot.  I think an important part of the story is how submissive she is in those first few chapters.  Stick with it.

One of the things I like about the series is how Kitty grows stronger with each book. In a lot of the books I read, the heroines are either too weak to stand up for themselves and need to be protected by the hero or they are totally kick ass and don't need anything from anybody. It's kind of nice to experience a character's growth from weak and ineffectual to strong and capable.

Funny, cause I have a ton of really amazing books (long wish listed lines) on my shelf at home and I've been dying to get Kitty and the Midnight Hour, don't know why, just struck me as something I wanted to read.  Anyway, I just ordered it through Borders, instead of waiting.  Let me know when you've finished and how you liked it.  No spoilers hopefully...LOL

Well, I finished it.  And she definitely got stronger as the book went on, but I guess I understand the point she's trying to get across by her being so submissive.  This is the way it's supposed to be in the pack, and it an instinct that they feel.

I like the Kitty series but there is just something about it that I find annoying I can't put my finger on.  I read each and every book that comes out, but it is not a keeper for me, doesn't even make my top 10 favorite series.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've read a few 1sts in series lately and none of them were "OMG, I can't wait to read the next one" type books for me.  Let's see, this week I've read Night Life (Nocturne City), Kitty and the Midnight Hour and Moon Called.  Like them, not crazy about them though.  I hope the seconds are better.

Kitty is on my keeper list.  Mainly because Kitty isn't this high heeled kick ass that is rather unbelievable.  Kitty seems like you could actually be buddies with her rather than afraid of her.  The character has kept the real world feeling of job and friends.
