An Advance Reader Copy, (with out the d) is a book/ soon to be book that the publisher releases before the final, edited, corrected copy is printed. The are often released for reviewers, and sometimes to some of us regular folks to read and review before the final printing. Some may even be released before they are corrected for spelling, grammar and punctuation, many bigger publisher call these galley proofs. The reason they are not postable here at PBS is because they can differ greatly from the final copy of the book is released.

You'll know if you have one  because it usually says "Advance Reader's Copy" or "Uncorrected Proof" or "Not for Resale" somewhere on the front or back of the book.  It may be in small type, so look carefully!
